It is 3 years since we had an event at Brocton Hall. I am sure I speak for all those who played when I declare that it was good to return. This classic parkland course, designed in 1922 by Harry Vardon, stands in the grounds of an equally classic Georgian house built in 1760. Both course and clubhouse are a delight. The course was beautifully presented and there was nothing much wrong with the greens given that there were 16 Two's recorded. (That reminds me - I must order more wine).
Post Ryder Cup, Dave Rogers team was a man down as his son James was last seen in Rome on Sunday disappearing into a crate of Peroni!
- It was great to see Anna Brocklehurst win the longest drive.
- Nearest the pin was Simon Blackmore.
- Nearest in two was Ryan Nicholls.
- With 87 playing. prizes went to 5th place.
We are already booked in for 3rd October next year.
