Northamptonshire County Am-Am

What a super course. The layout was originally done in 1909 by Harry Colt with alteration by James Braid.  A loop of 3 to facilitate nine holes was added in 2004.

This is only our second visit in six years but as everyone who played this year said they would definitely come back, I hope to be able to book for next year.

The weather could not have been better, with 23 degrees of sunshine, final results were announced on the terrace as the clubhouse was deserted.  Very few were not in shorts - one notable was Mark Geal - his shorts were still drying out after celebrating at the end of the Ryder Cup by jumping in the lake - You can take the boy out of Stoke but!!!

Another delightful day was had by all.  With 60 playing there were prizes to 4th place:  Narrowly missing the podium was Martin Dunn's team with 85.  The podium was occupied by three teams with 88 points so back nine scores were crucial and Derek Pedley's team had the best with 47.
