Kedleston Park AM-AM  Monday 22 May

prev next

For the first time this year, it felt like summer.

Kedleston, like many courses, has struggled to get some growth because the wet soil temperature has remained stubbornly low and grass likes a bit of warm sunshine.

The course was beautifully presented and, for those who were here for the first time, a joyous experience!  A round of enthusiastic applause was received for the course when I presented the prizes.

Unusually, Richard Garbett had to cry off because of illness - I hope he is back on form soon - That left Chris Scarrett and Malcolm Pateman to do their best as a two ball with the aid of 1 Proscore. And with 75 points they held their own.

With prizes to 4th place,  Dave Hewitt's team sneaked on to the bottle tally with 84 points.  On the podium this week - Robin Fenn's team from Branston were third with 86, Dave Rogers team, with new Teetours virgin and 3 handicap supersub Ryan Barnhurst, were second with 87 but spraying the crowd with Champagne were the boys from Uttoxeter ably skippered by Alan Kyte.
